Physical Properties: Pure zeaxanthin is a crystalline powder with an orange-red color and no odor. Its dilute solution is orange-red; it appears as a blood-red oily liquid above 10℃ and a yellow semi-solid oily substance below 10℃. It is a fat-soluble powder or oil, a derivative of β-carotene, soluble in organic solvents such as ether, petroleum ether, acetone, and esters, but insoluble in water.
