Morphologie des plantes Most leaves are curled and broken; intact leaves are ovate or broadly ovate, 8-13 cm long and 7-11 cm wide, with acute apex, serrated edges (sometimes irregularly lobed), and truncate, rounded or cordate base. The upper surface is dark green with slight luster and fine hairs along the veins; the lower surface is lighter in color, with prominent veins, reticulate small veins, and dense fine hairs. Brittle and easy to break. Odorless; taste mild, slightly bitter and astringent. Preferred leaves are intact, large, thick, and yellowish-green.
