Source: Dried roots and rhizomes of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge. (Lamiaceae)

Chemical Constituents: Tanshinone IIA, salvianolic acid B, cryptotanshinone; mainly fat-soluble non-quinone pigments such as tanshinone IIA, tanshinone IIB, cryptotanshinone and their isomers; water-soluble phenolic acids such as protocatechuic aldehyde and danshensu. Among them, cryptotanshinone is the main antibacterial active component.
