Plant MorphologyPerennial herb, up to 50 cm in height. Usually grows in clusters, with a pungent odor throughout; a pungent, sticky fluid oozes out when broken. Fibrous roots are tufted and white. Bulbs are cylindrical, slightly enlarged at the apex, with layered bulb scales that are white and marked with white longitudinal stripes. Leaves are basal, cylindrical, hollow, approximately 45 cm long and 1.5-2 cm in diameter, with a pointed apex, green color, and longitudinal veins; leaf sheaths are light green. Scape is roughly as long as the leaves; involucre is white and 2-lobed; umbel is spherical, with many dense flowers. Pedicels are as long as the perianth or 2/3 of its length, without bracts. Perianth is campanulate and white, with 6 perianth segments that are narrowly ovate, tapering to a point at the apex, and equipped with reflexed small tips. Filaments are 1.5-2 times as long as the perianth segments, conical, basally connate and adnate to the perianth. Capsule is triangular. Seeds are black, triangular-semicircular.
